Wanted: A loving home for an orphan website

Ah, those were the days - back in early 2007 and relatively new to the world of blogging, I used to bash out articles on my first blog miLienzo.com almost on a daily basis. Some articles, admittedly, better than others.
Now time has moved on and six months after launching my new site - the one you’re reading now - I have posted on miLienzo.com only three times. And I’m ashamed to admit this, but there are almost 200 unpublished comments. Yes, 200!
I’ve realised I don’t have the time to look after two blogs and it’s sad to see the old girl going neglected. So reluctantly but perhaps inevitably, I’ve decided to wind miLienzo.com down.
Over the next couple of weeks I will be republishing a handful of old miLienzo.com articles on this site - ones that I feel will bring value to this site (and perhaps a bit of traffic too). And I will also be making a home for my WordPress plugin I Love Social Bookmarking over here too, as that continues to prove very popular.
Other than that though, the site will be put to bed, the comments closed and all the content left as some kind of sad orphan website… unless that is, someone wants to take the site off my hands?

I’m not asking for any money - I genuinely would love to pass the site on to a dedicated blogger who can kick a new lease of life into it. The site generates respectable levels of traffic and has a small but established number of RSS subscribers. There will be a few conditions attached and I will only let the site go to someone who fills me with confidence that they are the right person.
If you think that person is you then please contact me via my contact form - tell me about yourself and tell me why you want miLienzo.com?

I was fighting back a tear with the news. Then I saw the photo of the cat and couldn’t stop myself.
Makes sense to migrate your best posts over here, Aaron, though perhaps it’d also be an idea to remove the content from miLienzo.com? I’m unsure how the whole duplicate content thing works. You probably know better.

I’m interested, but what sort of content are you wanting?

David - I’m sharing your pain man! Yeah, sure - any content that I move over will be ‘permanently’ moved with 301 redirects pointing from the old site over here.
dakabn - The content I put on to miLienzo.com was mainly to do with design, creativity and random geeky stuff. I’m not too bothered about the focus of the content, but more concerned that whoever takes the site off me can write, is committed, and is not going to use the site for dodgy purposes.
I used miLienzo.com has a starting ground to get in to blogging so I have no qualms passing the site on to someone in similar shoes. If you’re genuinely interested send me an email via my contact form and tell me about yourself.

Hi Aaron! I just came from miLienzo and really loved the Fresco theme for this children’s book review blog of mine. All the best with your hunt for a new head.
I hope that the new guy/gal would release the widget-ready version of Fresco as I’m all thumbs when it comes to plugins and widgets :P
Happy 2009!

@KittyCat - I’m afraid I’m not supporting the Fresco theme any more :( Hopefully Jason will pick up the reins and take the theme further. Good luck with your book review blog.
