ESRC Strategic Plan minisite

The Economic and Social Research Council commissioned me to build a minisite to conincide with the publication of their Strategic Plan 2009-2014.

I asked my friends at London-based design agency, The Good Folk to assist with the creative design. This allowed me to present a number of options to the ESRC from different designers.

The ESRC requested that the minisite mirror the look and style of the printed Strategic Plan document, designed by Swindon-based graphic designers, Doggett Jones.

Once the visuals had been signed off I built the front-end HTML and CSS assets, as well as a custom JavaScript powered slideshow for the homepage (using jQuery). The front-end assets were then handed over to ESRC's internal development team to be integrated with their existing systems.

The homepage featured a large interactive slideshow built using jQuery.
Careful attention was paid to the typography to ensure a pleasurable online reading experience.
